Department of Radiology



The Radiology Department at National Oncological Center was established in 1941.In a row department was headed by A.A.Shtuss (until1959), R.N.Rahimov (1959-1970, 1990-2013), S.G.Aliyev(until 1990) and since 2013 S.S.Vatankha. The main goal of radiology department is to provide early and  differencial diagnostics of oncological diseases. The department provides full range of imaging services.

The diagnostic department are  equipped with the latest technology and able to meet all diagnostic needs of patients. Each year, with using the most modern equipments, more than 36,000 patients are examined in this radiology department. All equipments are located in the same unit.

These kind of infrastructure of department helps to examine the patients completely and quickly. The system also archives images and reports making retrieval easy and sharing possible. Thus, current and previous records and images, which are so important in chronic illnesses and cancer, can be compared with one another.
