From 1970 to 1976, he studied at the Faculty of General Medicine of Azerbaijan Medical University.

He did an internship in Baku City Clinical Hospital №1 from 1976 to 1977, 

From 1983 to 1986, he received a postgraduate education at the All-Union Oncological Scientific Center in Moscow, Russia.

From 1977 to 1980 he worked as a physician in the Hospital of Oil Workers in Baku.

Since 1980, he has worked as an oncologist at the National Center of Oncology.

He has been a Candidate of Medical Sciences, All-Union Cancer Research Center, Moscow, Russia. Dissertation on  “Comprehensive treatment methods of stage 2 breast cancer” since 1986.

From 1993 to 1998, he worked on the dissertation on "Methods of complex treatment of stage 2 breast cancer", Faculty of Medicine, University of Trakya, Edirne, Turkey.
