He studied at the I Medical-prophylactic Faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University from 1979 to 1985.

From 1985 to 1986, he did an internshipat the Oncological Dispensary in Baku.

From 1987 to 1988, he worked as an oncologist at the Central Regional Clinic in Saatli, Azerbaijan.

From 1988 to 1990, he worked as a surgical oncologist at the Regional Oncological Dispensary in Shaki, Azerbaijan.

From 1992 to 2002, he worked as a surgical oncologist at the Department of General Oncology of the  National Centre of Oncology.

In 1995, under the supervision of Acamedic Jamil Aliyev, he defended a thesis on the “Incidence of Breast Cancer in during 1985-1990 in Baku” for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences.

From 2002 to 2010, he worked as an oncologist at the Medilux Clinic in Baku.

Since 2010, he has worked as an oncologist-mammologist at the Department of Diagnostics and Treatment of Precancerous Diseases of the  National Centre of Oncology.

He is an author of more than 30 scientific articles and theses.
