Department of Diagnosis and Treatment of Precancerous Diseases

The department is based on the National Center of Oncology of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan Republic and was established on the initiative of Academician J.A.Aliyev in 2009.  It is specialized diagnostic and treatment services for patients with precancerous diseases of the breast and gynecological organs. All doctors of this department are trained in world’s most famous and largest clinics. The department have a close cooperation with foreign clinics.

Precancerous diseases are being diagnosed and treated based on worldwide guidelines. All patients undergo a complex screening process, including instrumental, laboratory methods, mammography, breast and gynecological ultrasound. In case of suspicious findings morphological analysis is performed.

Screening process aims to find breast and gynecological cancers as early as possible, when they are most likely to be curable.

The main diagnostic and treatment principles of precancerous diseases of the breast; ultrasound, digital mammography; it is conducted in women over 40 years old and younger ages, under control of ultrasound and mammography, tru-cut biopsy and punch  biopsy ,treatment of lactose and mastitis, surgical treatment of — cyst fibroadenoma are carried out in stationaries  equipped with high quality and modern equipments.

The following tests are  used to diagnose breast cancer or for follow-up testing after the cancer has been diagnosed: ultrasound, digital mammography, tru-cut biopsy (ultrasound or mammography guided). Breast benign lesions are being treated in inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Gynecological outpatient care includes: hysteroscopy, hysteroresections, cervix electroexcisions, uterine cavity curettage, colposcopy. In department, rooms of endocrinology, physiotherapy,dermatology,stomatology function.

The employees of department are high qualified specialists who got work experiences in foreign leading medical centers.
