I Azerbaijan-German-Turkish Congress

Co-organized by Azerbaijan National Center of Oncology and Germany-Azerbaijan Medical Cooperation Association, the congress brings together more than 500 Azerbaijani and foreign doctors. 14 professors from Turkish and German university clinics including our leading medical experts participated in the congress. Congress German Ambassador, Mrs Heidrun Tempel wished success and   expressed his gratitude to the organizers of this international event. Speaking about the medical relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, ambassador said that the cooperation should be continued. He noted Germany is interested in cooperation with Turkey and Azerbaijan. We are pleased with Azerbaijani residents sending to Germany for practice. We would like this process will be more intensive”,-said Heidrun Tempel.

Professor Aziz Aliyev spoke about the success of the National Center of Oncology. Stressed as a result of the care and attention of President of the Azerbaijan Republic, National Center of Oncology is equipped with the latest medical technology, including mobile diagnostic complex.  The problem of supplying oncological patients with anti-tumor drugs has been resolved. National Center of Oncology having rich material-technical base and strong personnel can be compared to the world’s most advanced oncology centers.

Scientific-research is conducted in organizing oncology service structure by employees of the Center and early diagnosis of malignant tumors, conducting advanced surgical, radiation and drug therapy, further improvement of existing treatment methods. National Center of Oncology led by Academician Jamil Aliyev functions as the main center involved in the coordination of prophylactic and scientific–methodological works for oncological care to population of the country.  Surgical building of the Center is equipped with the most modern medical equipment.

Noted that gradually decreasing the number of oncology patients in the Republic and it was established the legal basis for people suffering from malignant tumors  for to receive free of charge specialized medical and social assistance.  Willingness to cooperate of MD Anderson Cancer Center in USA with National Center of Oncology is great success not only in country healthcare, also in Azerbaijan.

In recent years as all fields,  significant progress in the field of medicine has been brought to the attention in Congress. Noted that, relations with medical centers in Turkey and  Germany has a major role in the development of healthcare in the country. Stressed that the implementation of such measures is one of the main goals of National  Center of Oncology  and  it has great experience in this field.

Note that the Congress has continued in parallel sessions. The congress will hear reports on innovations in the fields of general and laparoscopic surgery, oncology, gastroenterology, endoscopy and radiology.

Professor M.Niedergethmann, PhD N. Askerov, Professor S. Demirbash, Professor H. Shenturk made reports in the conference hall of National Center of Oncology. Reports were in a high scientific level and participants were very active. Asking questions and receiving answers shows participants’ high interest in reports.
