He studied at the Medical-prophylactic Faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University from 1974 to 1979.  

Between the years of 1979 and 1980 he did an internship in Surgery at the Clinical Hospital №5 in Baku. 

He did a clinical residency in Surgery in the Crimean Medical Institute in Simferopol from 1987 to 1989. 

He was an assistant at the Department of Oncology of Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after A.Aliyev in 1990.

He has worked as a surgical oncologist at the Department of Abdominal Oncology of the National Center of Oncology since 1990.

In 1993, he took a course in Oncology in the Advanced Training Institute for Doctors in Moscow. 

Between the years of 1994 and 1996, he was a dissertant at the Department of Oncology of  Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after A.Aliyev. 

In 1996, he defended a dissertation on the topic “Radical surgical treatment of breast cancer of I-II stages”  and he was awarded a scientific degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences.

In 2012, He took a course in laparoscopy in Milan, Italy and in Strasburg, France.

In 2013, he had a training course in laparoscopy in Heidelberg ,German.

130 scientific papers have been published.

The main practical activity is related to the surgical treatment of gastric, colorectal, pancreatic, malignant and benign tumors of the bile ducts, mini-invasive surgery.
