He studied at the Faculty of Treatment and Prevention of Azerbaijan Medical University from 1996 to 2002.

Betwen 2002 and 2003, he did an internship on General Surgery at the City Clinic Hospital №5 in Baku.

He did a clinical residency on Surgery at the Department of Surgical Disease and Clinical Angiology at Moscow State Medical Stomatological University from 2005 to 2007.

Between 2007 and 2010, he received a postgraduate education on Surgery at the Department of Surgical Disease and Clinical Angiology of Moscow State Medical Stomatological University.

In 2010, he defended a dissertation on the topic “Extracorporal detoxication in treatment of hepatic failure during toxic phase of acute pancreatitis”.

He worked as a surgical oncologist at the Department of Abdominal Oncology of the National Center of Oncology in 2011.

Between January and May 2012, he did a fellowship on Laparoscopic surgery at the Instituto Clinico S.Anna in Brescia, Italy.

Between September and November 2012, he took a course at the Surgical oncology AKH Clinic in  Vienna, Austria

He took a course on Laparoscopic general surgery in Strasbourg, France from 23.09.2013 to 27.09.2013.

In 2016, he took a course at the Department of Oncocoloproctology of the Russian National Oncology Center.

He has been Head of the Department of Oncocoloproctology of the National Center of Oncology since 2017.

He took a Ta-TME operation course in London, United Kingdom in May, 2018.

From 11.03.2019 to 22.03.2019, he took a course at St.Mark's Hospital Academic Institute in London, United Kingdom. 

He is an author of more than 40 scientific articles. He is currently doing a research on the topic "Improvment of the comprehensive treatment of locally advanced colorectal cancer".
