The II International Onco-Gastro-Hepatology Conference, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, started its work at the National Center of Oncology of the Ministry of Health, on September 29.

The event was jointly organized by the National Center of Oncology, the Public Union of Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan Society of Oncologists.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the beginning of the conference. The memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our land was commemorated with a minute of silence. A film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was demonstrated.

Fuad Guliyev, PhD, Deputy General Director of the National Center of Oncology, spoke about the exceptional role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of healthcare in Azerbaijan. He greeted the conference participants and wished them success on behalf of Academic Jamil Aliyev, General Director of the National Center of Oncology.

Gulnara Aghayeva, Chairman of the Public Union of Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists of Azerbaijan, Associate Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine of the Baku branch of the Sechenov Medical University, greeted the participants and wished them success.

Experts from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, India, Japan, Uzbekistan participate in the conference. Within the framework of the conference, specialists will speak on topics including modern diagnostic and treatment methods of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. As a practical part of the event, the procedures performed in the operating room will be broadcast live to the conference hall.
