He studied at the Faculty of Treatment and Prevention of Azerbaijan Medical University from 1983 to 1989.

Between 1989 and 1990, he did internship at the Scientific Oncology Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He worked as an oncologist at Ganja Oncological Dispensary from 1990 to 1991.

In 1991, he was Deputy Director for Medical Affairs at the Scientific-Research Association against Cancer­­­.

He worked as an oncologist at the United City Hospital N32 from 1991 to 1993.

He worked as an oncologist at the Department of Abdominal Oncology of the National Center of Oncology in 1997.

Between 1997 and 1999, he did clinical residency in Oncology at the National Center of Oncology.

He received a postgraduate education in Oncology at the National Center of Oncology from 2001 to 2006.

In 2004, he was a junior researcher at the Department of Abdominal Oncology of the National Center of Oncology.

Between 2008 and 2009, he was Head of the Department of Abdominal Oncology of the National Center of Oncology.

In 2009, he defended a dissertation on “The epidemiology of colon cancer in Azerbaijan” in the specialty of “oncology” and “epidemiology” and was awarded a degree of PhD in Medical Science.

In 2010, he worked as a researcher at the Department of Abdominal Oncology of the National Center of Oncology.

He has been Chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 2011.

In 2013, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the Honorary title of "Honored Doctor of the Republic".
