The "German-Azerbaijani Gynecology Day" Conference was held in Baku

On January 14, a "German-Azerbaijani Gynecology Day" event was organized by the National Center of Oncology (NOC) in cooperation with the Azerbaijan Society of Oncologists. Professor Sven Becker from Goethe University Hospital Frankfurt met with Academik Jamil Aliyev, Director General of the NOC on the eve of the event.

Dr. Shamistan Aliyev, Head of the Gynecologic Oncology Department of the NOC, delivered a speech by Academik Jamil Aliyev: “Dear guests, I greet you! The today  event is dedicated to the health issues specific to women's health and its protection. In Azerbaijan, as in the rest of the world, the treatment of oncological diseases, as well as women's health is always under the control of the state as one of the priority issues." Jamil Aliyev congratulated the conference participants, wished them good day and declared the conference open.

At the conference, experts from Goethe University Hospital Frankfurt and the National Center of Oncology presented various topics on modern methods of treatment of gynecological diseases.

Professor Sven Becker talked about the latest innovations in gynecology, especially gynecologic oncology, advanced treatment methods and other topical issues. He also informed the participants about the future cooperation between the relevant hospitals of Azerbaijan and Germany in this field: “I hope that in the future we will increase the exchange of experience and the number of similar conferences. The discussion of the treatment methods of the diseases that may lead to social problems in some cases, in the framework of such meetings, is very useful.

Dr. Khayal Gasimli, Head of the Gynecologic Oncology Department of Goethe University Hospital Frankfurt, spoke about the prevention and treatment of the oncological diseases. He noted that the progress has been made in the fight against the disease as a result of innovations in the treatment and diagnosis of oncological diseases in the country.

The following topics were covered at the event: “Gynecological Surgery and Fertility. What makes sense?”, “Modern endometriosis treatment. Integrating surgery and conservative treatment”, “Molecular profiling of endometrial cancer. The predictive and therapeutic potential of Polo-like Kinase 1 (PLK1) in KRAS and PI3K disregulated endometrial cancer”, “The role of 3D laparoscopy and ICG technology in the treatment of endometrial cancer”, “Conservative treatment or immediate congestion? Therapeutic strategies of HSIL and ACIS for age groups and in pregnancy”.

The participants of the "German-Azerbaijani Gynecology Day" exchanged views on the dynamics of growth of gynecological diseases. They emphasized the necessity of similar meetings.

The “German-Azerbaijani Gynecology Day” event was held in a hybrid format and was broadcast online on the Zoom platform.
