Polyclinic Admission Department



Based on the decision number 2928 of 10.12.1940 of the Council of People’s Commissars and
People’s Commissariat of Health of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Azerbaijan State Scientific Research Institute of Roentgen  and Radiology was created in Baku.The same year the policlinic department was created  which has been operating since then.
Admission Clinics Office —– (EPP), National Centre of Oncology of Ministry of Health  of Azerbaijan Republic exercises activity to provide a highly professional consultation  and diagnostic care for patients directed by therapeutic and prophylactic medical institutions.

                                

EPP currently performs the following functions :

  • Providing highly professional medical consultations
  • Conducting of additional diagnostics treatment
  • Organizations of patient reception in inpatient units
  • Providing of surveillance and selection of themed disease
  • Carrying of out-patient treatment

All patients applying to National Center of Oncology for examination and treatment at the primary stage address to admission department. Medical cards are opened for outpatients, attending physician is assigned and all necessary tests are performed  (CT,MRT,X-ray,ultrasound,mammography,endscopy,morphological,biological,ginecological examinations,scintigraphy,laboratory tests and biochemical analysis of blood). Samples obtained by excisional biopsy for the lesion are sent for histological or cytological examination to confirm the diagnosis.

The patient is assigned chemotherapy depending on the results of histopathological examination, the patient visits the surgeon and radiologist to select the treatment plan, and patients consult with senior scientists. Patients requiring hospitalization are placed in office of the Centre. Hormone therapy, monohimia and other treatments are assigned to most out-patients and they are put on record. Seriously ill people is convened the consilium to determine the diagnosis and treatment plan.
Patients with advanced diseases are examined and after confirmation of the diagnosis and in cases of impossibility of a specific treatment, patients are sent  for  symptomatic treatment under supervision  of attending oncologist.
Department staff are highly skilled professionals experienced in foreign medical institutions.
