Mammadov Murad Giyas
Biography

He studied at the Faculty of Treatment and Prevention of Azerbaijan Medical University from 1970 to 1976 and graduated from the University with distinction.

He received a postgraduate education on poliomyelitis and viral encephalitis at the  Medical Academy of the Ministry of Health of  USSR from 1980 to 1984.

In 1984, he defended  a PhD thesis in the specialty of virology.

He worked as a Head of the reestablished Laboratory of Experimental Therapy of Roentgenology, Radiology and Oncology SRI  from 1985 to 1988.

He worked as a Head of the Department of Experimental Therapy from 1988 to 1990.

Since 1990, he has worked as a Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the National Center of Oncology.

In 1991, he defended a Doctoral dissertation in specialty of oncology and virology  in the All-Union Oncological Scientific Center in Moscow.

In 1998, he was awarded a scientific degree of Professor in specialty of allergology and immunology  by the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 2004, he was elected as an Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
